Christmas is Coming

Christmas is here and as we all prepare for one of the most beautiful days of the year I want to share what this day means to me.

To me its more than just having a pretty tree, more than just finding the perfect gifts for you loved ones, it goes beyond holiday parties, and yummy holiday treats. Its much more than creating the perfect holiday card and having the most festive house on the block. Theres more to it than all these fun things and theres also a reason for it all.

Luke 2:10-11
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

This is the day that our world was given new light, a hope for salvation. God had given us the greatest gift imaginable he gave us a Savior. We should stand up and shout our praises for this day, be proud to proclaim the good news that happened so many years ago in that little manger in bethlehem because it was on this day that Christ was Born. He is the real reason THE ONLY reason we celebrate today. He was sent to our imperfect, flawed world to save us, to show us the truest definition of LOVE.

So yes our home is dressed up for christmas, our tree is up and filled with lights, christmas gifts are bought (not wrapped yet) and cards mailed out. BUT with out Jesus being the center our our celebration of this season then there would be no point. He is the light of our world, he is the change that we all need today as they did so many years ago. So we celebrate because of him and I will forever say Merry Christmas proudly.

Lets come together and sing praises because the this is the day that we were given hope TRUE hope through a beautiful baby boy born to a young couple who trusted Gods plan for them completely.

So lets get ready to celebrate the most joyous day of the year! Jesus Birthday!!

I HAVE TO PEE!!!!

As parents who have potty trained little ones this is something we hear countless times a day. Logan’s one to announce that he has to pee regardless of where he is just to be sure everyone knows hes a big boy and he can go by himself, cute right? Not so cute when you yourself try to get a single minute to use the bathroom and then you hear the infamous like “moooooooom I have to peeeeeee”.  This is all fine and dandy and you of course jump to not let an accident happen but what’s the point of having bought a house with 2 bathrooms when we only have 1 done?

When we started renovating the house we pretty much decided that the most important parts were the upstairs living spaces and that we would tackle the basement later. Well later has finally come. Last year was the year of the basement reno which turned out great (still need to decorate but we have a basement!).  The second bathroom & laundry/utility room have been on the bottom of our lists in terms of updates but with Logan getting bigger and well all of us needing a bit more bathroom space we decided that this year we will opt out of “gifts” for Christmas and give each other the gift of privacy & a finished bathroom. For the longest this space was just used as storage for building material and tools and well if you know my husband car parts…so itll be nice to finally have this bathroom space finished.

Step one was biting the bullet and placing an order for all the things we need for this project. So with CyberMonday being earlier this week we totally took advantage of the sales picking up: a vanity, Ditra heated floor kit (which Moe insisted on) & sconces. Not a bad haul and enough to get us started. All we need is a faucet, toilet, and little extra things to add to the room. This week my plan is to have that space cleared out and ready to start as soon as our stuff comes in! I sure hope Moe’s ready to tackle all his stuff in that room…God only knows what treasures he may find lol.

So here’s to starting new projects and creating new spaces, even if it is just a bathroom and then on to the
laundry/utility room.
